not your ordinary
Dear You,
Coaching is a benevolent disruption, a call to deeper wisdom. It’s a quest to look at patterns. Not to solve problems perfectly, but to wallow in the luxury of metabolizing the challenges and their complications. It’s a practical, creative, responsive process designed to resurrect your audacity. It will inspire you to lead with compassionate sanity.
Being a coach, for me, is the synthesis of a lifetime of business experience, clinical training, and a profound belief in human potential. My complex work-life experience informs my coaching as much as my credentials.
The first decade or so of my adult life was spent on a Montana cattle ranch, and many of the cowgirl skills and metaphors from those years still linger. A long stint as an AIDS educator/activist shaped much of my philosophy about life and death. I completed my clinical psychological training while I was working with elite law schools. I’m a mom with amazing adult children, beautiful grandchildren, and a stubborn dog named Cookie Minerva Prune.
My coaching philosophy is definitely all tangled up with my clinical training as a psychologist. While coaching is different than therapy (I don’t wander too far into childhood trauma or family drama, for instance), there are some perks of working with a psychologist as a coach. In addition to surfacing invisible patterns to make them seen and manageable, it is an opulent, affirming experience to be really heard.
Yours, in love and focus,
jeannie
